Noo!!!!!!

Everyone seems to be making statements and voicing opinions about Michael Jackson's sudden death. So I thought I should do my part and let you know how sad I am. It's been said that wrote the soundtrack to our lives and its so true. You can't go to a wedding, club, school dance, karaoke bar or watch commercials without hearing one of his songs. His music reached people of all races, political backgrounds and ages. Anyone who knows about music and song writing can listen to any song of his and hear pure genius. He was a strange man who didn't fit in with main stream society, but he really moved people with his music. Literally. I can't listen to PYT or Beat It and not sing along or dance in my car. I get teary eyed whenever I hear Man in the Mirror. I remember listening to Thriller as a little, little kid and mimicking his dance moves and being terrified of the music video. His music was so far ahead of his time and there will never be another mad man like him. Walden already gets to hear Michael Jackson whenever we are in the car and I hope he enjoys hearing his songs as much as I do. It truly is the end of an era, but his music will live on forever. RIP MJ!

  1. I had to comment on this as well. Anyone who knows me knows that I have been a TRUE DIE HARD Michael Jackson fan straight out of the womb. It sounds silly to most but I'm truly saddened by his unexpected death. I still have all of his albums on vinyl. I could still do the Thriller and Beat It dances, if I were drunk enough. Michael Jackson influenced my entire "career" in dance since the age of 3. I watched his videos and listened to his albums for hours and hours on end. I bought everything of his I could get my hands on! I had entire sticker book devoted to him! I was a little girl obsessed with his awesome talent and I am still that same girl. To this day watching him dance still gives me goose bumps. You simply cannot imitate an original. His controversies and his personal life DO NOT take away from the unprecedented work that he did not only in music but in his humanitarian efforts as well. It saddens me that he never had a chance for a "normal life", even as a celebrity. The media and his critics drove his untimely downfall and he eventually became his own worst enemy. You could always see the heartache in his eyes. He was always the same lost little boy that people first saw when he was only 11. We have Michael Jackson to thank for everything you hear on the radio today, from rock to hip hop to country, his influences are heard far and wide. His greatness cannot be denied, no matter what your opinions are of him. Music simply would not be the same today if it weren't for him. And my childhood would not have been the same if it weren't for him. My daughter, Lennon, has been a fan of his since she could talk. She's 10 and loves Billy Jean and Thriller. Too bad there aren't any "greats" around to influence her in the same way. It breaks my heart that I will never have the opportunity to see him perform live, but I am so grateful for living during his time. Thank you MJ for the pure excitement you brought to my life in your music and dance. Your TRUE FANS will never forget what you did here during your time, and it won't ever be replicated. God bless MJ. (Thanks Doni!)
